Rest and Relaxation

There seems to be great confusion about why, when, and how we should rest and relax our body. Once you have made a decision to take responsibility for your health, and engage in a fitness program, it is important to incorporate rest and relaxation into your program. Muscle fiber tends to break down during each workout. After, an intense 4-6 week program the body needs a chance to heal.
I recommend after you have completed your workout program you must take at least 5-7 days to rest the body and relax the mind. Take this time to catch up with family and friends, see a movie, read a book, or just spend some quiet time alone. Remember, this 5-7 day rest period is just as important as your workout program. Don’t feel guilty, give your body and mind the rest it deserves.
