1. Go Richer.
Light cream formulas that you used all summer may not cut it for the fall. Switch over to a heavier cream, that lists water as the first ingredient, this will instantly hydrate your skin. Look for shea butter, or ingredients with honey that will moisturize you all day, however these ingredients are better used on your body then your face.
2. Take A Cool Shower.
Too much hot water can wash away your body’s natural oils that keep your skin hydrated. Try and take colder showers, once a day with a mild cleanser that wont strip the moisture away. Try and moisturized your body within two minutes of getting out of the shower.
3. Exfoliate Dull, Rough Spots.
Dead skin cells flake away, and end up shedding making skin look pale. Keepig your skin exfoliated at least once a week with a gentle scrub will allow new skin to be revealed. 1 mistake many people make is exfoliating too often this can lead to irriation, and dry up your skin even more.
4. Stop Scratching!
Scratching your dry skin can cause irriation, this only leads to more itching. Don’t use your nails on your face it’s the best way to leave marks, when you feel like the itch is uncontrolable apply a thick layer of cream or an ointment instead.
5. Eat Some Fat.
Cutting fat completely out of your diet isnt the best. But you can stay clear of staurated fats and go for foods high in omega 3 fatty acids. Foods such as salmon, walnuts, avocados can help improve the hydration in your skin.
6. Get More ZZZs.
Your skin will start to glow with more sleep you receive. During sleep skin takes time to repair itself and heal dryness. The natural moisturizer that penetrate’s in your body will start to reveal themselves. During sleep pores tend to relax and keep skin’s moisture in.
7. Treat Hands And Feet.
Try applying rich moisturizers to your hands and feet, doin so before going to sleep is best with either a pair of sox or gloves to keep the moisture in. For your feet try using an ointment that will hydrate and gently exfoliate rough heels for better comfort.
8. Use Sunscreen!
Now that summers’ gone you think you could skip on the suncreen. But the sun’s rays are just as damaging in the winter, always use mositurizer with some type of SPF in it. Sun rays can cause wrinkles or lead to burns, so this winter carry around your sunscreen.
